The Power Of The Question In Social Media

By Corey Graham 2.0 Feb 28 2

When your customers/fans keep asking you the same questions, especially via your social media profiles, they are not trying to be annoying. What they are really doing, is showing you where the "market" is trending. The questions they ask highlight the ever evolving desires of your target market.

You might have to get over yourself and infinite understanding of your product and customers and consider the questions that your customers are asking. This has been a challenge I have had to overcome. I had been so focused on the product and what it is supposed to be that I was not listening to the questions that customers have been asking. I assumed that they didn't understand the world of social media and so they were asking questions purely out of their ignorance. The truth is you should never underestimate the intelligence of your audience.

In most cases they understand their problems and challenges better that you do and their questions are a gift to you and your business. These questions provide the basis for you to gain a better understanding of your market. They can be great in helping you to spot new trends early and make the most of them.

I am not saying that social media has replaced other forms of market research, but it is important to take advantage of what is in front of you.

Now I have a question to you. Are you ready to add some extra hours to your day to adapt your business to this new information your customers are presenting to you?

Corey, I agree with you. Businesses should be prepared to use all avenues available to them to try to better understand their customers/end users and their markets. I find the challenge with many Barbadian businesses is that they are only prepared to do what they have been doing for the last quarter of a century and as a result are missing out on the plethora of opportunities that exist.

More training in social media is needed to debunk the myths, dispel fear and created a more all encompassing model of engaging customers.

I totally agree. I think the key question is how do we change the mindset.

With Drenalin Productions I have been working hard on that, to have tangible examples to show persons. Here, this is a ‘case study’ for you to chew on.

What u think will change the mindset?
