MIDEM is the world’s largest music industry trade fair, which is held annually at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. MIDEM 2010 bringing together musicians, businesspeople, cultural policy makers, and journalists from many countries, it provides a forum for business talks, discussing political and legal issues, and showcasing new artists, musical trends and music-related products.

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Conferences & Festivals http://sxsw.com/ offers the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies, March 12-21, 2010. Showcasing nearly 2,000 musical acts from around the globe at over 80 stages in downtown Austin, Texas, SXSW registrants have a first-look at tomorrow’s stars. By day, managers, labels, promoters, press, internet media outlets, artists and other business professionals conduct business in the SXSW Trade Show.
This year the Association of Music Entrepreneurs in collaboration with Invest Barbados will be taking a team of musicians and artists to be a part of the SXSW showcase. Applicants should register with the SONICBIDS website no later than November 6, 2009 and receive a showcase invitation before submitting a Electronic Press Kit (EPK) – outlining number of persons in band, band/artist boi, cost of attending SXSW and any additional information) along with the SXSW Invitation Letter to Association of Music Entrepreneurs for consideration. Persons submitting EPKs to the AME can deliver them to Barbados Coalition of Service Industries, Pine Road, St. Michael. Submissions deadline to the AME, no later than January 30, 2009.
